We set up the new trailer in the drive and people could pick up drinks on the way in or come out during the course of afternoon “tea” and try out the full range of coffee shop delights on offer. Vic and Jules had arranged sandwiches, cakes, cupcakes and more from their local deli and these went superbly with Harrie’s blend – sold as anything from a regular Americano to an iced Mocha! It was a great addition to a lovely afternoon!

Harrie’s can do any sized event – from private party through to The Chilli Fiesta at West Dean - get in touch to find out more!!!

Harrie’s is growing…… not just the organic growth that is down to the great coffee and very friendly service at Arundel Station and local events…. I liked the coffee so much that I bought the company!!! Harrie’s has acquired Coaster Coffee in a move to expand the brand and develop other aspects of the business.

I’ve always served a delicious Fairtrade Columbian grown to organic standards and when the opportunity came up to buy Sid’s business, I jumped at the chance. Not only does it give me control over my supply chain and ownership of my blend and roast, it means that I can supply other independent cafes, restaurants and businesses as well as individuals who love the smooth rich, taste without the bitter overtones.

If you’d like your local coffee bar to sell my excellent coffee, please direct them to my website or let me know and i’ll drop in a sample! If you’d like beans or ground for your larder – let me know and i’ll bring some to the station for you to buy!

This acquisition has also opened up new markets for cafe consultancy and coffee solutions in other establishments – but more of that in my next post!

A votre sante

Introducing my fabulous new trailer, Montie and also, Harrie – Dana from Applecarte has created this cheeky chappie (chappess) to be the face of Harrie’s. Harrie will be all over the new website and an integral part of Harrie’s new marketing strategy – which includes being author of the new blog…. (with a little help from me of course!). I’ve only tweeted and used my FB Fan Page up until now, so expanding to more than 140 words is going to be a tall order!
Firstly thanks to Alan and Dana at Applecarte in Chichester for creating this great website – now it’s up to me to use it to its full advantage. Mark and the team at Blackburn Trailers in Birdham have created a wonderful new trailer for me – Montie (named after my wonderful uncle Douglas Montague Simons – the legacy I received from his estate paid for the coffee machine and it’s accessories!) and also to the Fracino guys for creating my coffee machine up in Birmingham – a real “made in Britain” triumph! The grant from LEADER/Defra/WSCC really made it all possible!
Thanks to everyone who has put up with the teething problems over the last month – as ever, my persistence will prevail… and now your full healthy breakfast is available daily at the station.
This blog will be all about how you can make great nutrition and delicious food part your busy life – recipes for healthy, fast food; articles on nutrition; product recommendations; food industry debates; local and foodie events and more… and I have no doubt that Harrie and I will dip into the life and lives of Chichester, Arundel and the Downs to keep it from becoming completely food obsessed!
Bon Appetite!
